Swept path image with several vehicle states

Create an image of the cornering that shows your vehicle combination in various drive-through positions

HeavyGoods currently doesn't automatically generate static images, which contains several snapshots of the vehicle combination at different positions. To show your customer, how the vehicle passes the route section, you typically share the video (using the video link function of HeavyGoods) instead of a static image.

If you still want to create an image, which shows the vehicle at several positions, yo can do so, by doing some manual work in a graphics software.

That's how such a layered HeavyGoods simulation image finally looks like:

You can use any image editing software which supports different layers and layer modes (some popular examples are the fee-based Adobe Photoshop or the free open source software Gimp).

To create your image, follow these steps: ‌

  1. Take a first screenshot of the according route section with the vehicle at its initial position.

  2. Hide the Google maps background (by clicking the burger menu in the bottom right corner and moving the opacity slider to the left).

  3. Forward the simulation video to the next relevant position and take a second screenshot.

  4. Repeat step 3 as often as you like.

  5. In your image editing software add the first screenshot as the background layer. Then put the other images on top as separate layers.

  6. For the vehicle layers choose an appropriate layer mode, e.g. "Darken luma".

  7. Crop the image if needed.
